Step by Step method

  • Preparation:

  • 1.Separately wash black gram and sorghum with water.

  • 2.Add methi seeds to the black gram and soak the mix for 4 hours.

  • 3.Soak sorghum separately for 4 hours.

  • 4.After soaking, grind black gram and sorghum separately into a smooth batter.

  • 5.Mix both batters and add some salt.

  • 6.Allow to ferment for about 3 hours. In cold weather,ferment overnight.

  • 7.Add water to the batter and mix well to make a thinner consistency needed for dosa.

  • 8.Heat the dosa tawa and grease with oil.

  • 9.Pour a ladleful of batter on the tawa and spread into a thin round shape with the ladle.

  • 10.Cook until the dosa is crispy.

  • Serve hot with chutney and sambar.
