Ingredients

Step by Step method

  • Preparation :

  • 1. In a bowl, take the banana and mash it properly.

  • 2. Then add both flours, 1 tsp of garlic, salt, baking powder, and 2 tbsp of oil into it. Add milk gradually and knead into a soft and smooth dough.

  • 3. Cover with a clean kitchen towel and let the dough rest for around 40minutes, or until it has doubled in size.

  • 4. Once the dough is ready, divide it into equal-sized portions.

  • 5. Roll each portion between your palms to make a smooth ball, then flatten it lightly.

  • 6. Place the balls on a tray with some space between them. Cover with a kitchen towel and let them rest for 5 to 10 minutes.

  • 7. Meanwhile, melt the butter in a pan. Add garlic, turn off the heat, and sauté until the garlic is cooked with the residual heat from the melted butter.

  • 8. Once the butter mixture becomes warm, add the chopped coriander leaves and set it aside.

  • 9. Sprinkle some flour on the dough and place it on a lightly dusted rolling board. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top of the dough. Using a rolling pin, roll it into a round or oval-shaped naan.

  • 10. Heat a tawa ,sprinkle little water on the tawa and place the naan on it.

  • 11. Cook for 1 to 2 minutes, or until you see the base getting nicely browned and slightly charred.

  • 12. Lift the naan from tawa with tongs and place it directly on the flame. Ensure all sides and surfaces are well cooked.

  • 13. Place the naan on a tray and brush it generously with the garlic butter mixture.

  • 14. Serve the Bajra garlic naan hot or warm with your favorite curry.
