  • Preparation :

  • 1.Take Green gram dal (moong ) and Foxtail millet rice (pre soaked) in a

  • utensil . Add required water and cook it properly.

  • 2.Make sure the dal and rice is cooked completely.

  • 3.Further in a pan take jaggery and ¼ cup water.

  • 4.Further in a pan take jaggery and ¼ cup water.

  • 5.Keep stirring till the jaggery melts completely.

  • 6.Filter and jaggery water into cooked rice-dal mixture.

  • 7.Simmer for 2 minutes or till jaggery combines well with mixture.

  • 8.In a kadai heat 3tbs ghee and fry cloves, add whole cashew and raisins

  • and crushed green cardamom.

  • 9.Pour it into sweet Pongal and mix well, cook it for another 1 minute

  • 10.Add in 1 tbsp ghee and give a good mix till the Pongal turns glossy.

  • 11.Foxtail millet sweet Pongal is ready to serve.
