Step by Step method

  • Preparation :

  • 1. Take blackgram , wash it properly and soak it for 2-3hour .

  • 2. In a another bowl take foxtailmillet upma rawa and soak it for 1 hour . after 1 hour drain it and keep aside .

  • 3. Grind blackgram and prepare a smooth batter.

  • 4. In a bowl take the blackgram batter and foxtailmillet upma rawa , mix properly and keep it for 3 hour.

  • 5. Add chopped onions, salt, baking soda, grated mango ginger, chopped green chilies to the batter. Mix very well with a spoon.

  • 6. In a pan heat oil, add mustard seed, blackgram and curry leaf, stir fry for 10 seconds on a low flame

  • 7. Transfer the contents to the mix and mix well.

  • 8. Heat the paniyaram pan. Add few drops of oil in to it .Pour spoonful of the batter up to ¾ of the mould.

  • 9. Allow the batter to cook for 2 to 3 minutes on a low to medium heat.

  • 10. Add some oil and turn each paniyaram with the help of a spoon.

  • 11. Now allow it to get cooked and crisp.

  • 12. Turn once or twice for uniform cooking. Repeat cooking with the remaining batter.

  • 13. Remove them and serve millet paniyaram with chutney.
