Step by Step method

  • Preparation:

  • 1.Take 3-4 tbsp of lukewarm water in a large bowl and dissolve yeast in it.

  • 2.Add sugar to the yeast and keep aside for activation for 15 minutes.

  • 3.Add ragi flour, maida and milk to the yeast mix and knead into a smooth dough.

  • 4.Cover the bowl and set aside for 2½ hours to allow the dough to rise.

  • 5.Pre-heat oven to 180°C.

  • 6.Grease the bread pan with ghee.

  • 7.Transfer the dough into the bread pan and bake it at 180°C for 30 to 35 minutes.

  • 8.Remove from oven and allow the bread to cool.

  • 9.Slice the ragi bread and enjoy with your morning tea!

  • Note: You can replace the maida with wheat flour (atta).

  • You can also use this recipe to prepare bread with pearl millet (bajra) or sorghum (jawar) as well
